It’s that time of year again! Happy New Year!
We’re all thinking about the personal goals we want to achieve over the next 12 months, and most of the time, health and prosperity are usually top of the agenda when it comes to making new year resolutions. However, this year, it’s more important than ever to prioritize mental and physical health. After a tough year, I made sure that my goals for 2022 focuses on how I can achieve and sustain a healthy and happy lifestyle.
My 5 goals for a healthier, happier 2022:
GET ENOUGH REST!
This is something I’ve been taking for granted since I gave birth to my first child 5 years ago. Well, this year, I’m going to change that! I will take naps when the kids are napping, I’ll avoid working late at night, and I will make an effort to go to bed early. That means, no more using my phone when I’m already in bed. Kasi naman, let’s face it, “one more episode” leads to another and another! Malalaman ko na lang, 2am na pala. Hahaha! No more!
QUALITY TIME WITH FAMILY
It might have been a tough couple of years, however, we’re still very thankful because we get to spend a whole lot of time together. I’m looking forward to another year full of laughter, bonding, and adventure with my family.
EAT HEALTHY
Struggle is real for me when it comes to eating healthy. Most of the time, I find myself whipping up something fast and easy to prepare because I have lots of other things to do. This year, I would like to give more thought and planning to my meals. I’ll lessen highly processed foods, stay away from excess sugar, and increase vegetables and fruits in my diet. Bawasan muna ang samgyup at milktea! Hahaha!
REGULAR EXERCISE
For the past 2 years, my daily workout consists of carrying my toddlers, dancing to baby shark songs, playing hide-and-seek, and cleaning up after the kids. This year, I plan to do actual exercise! Yes mamsh! Yung totohanan at masinsinang workout na talaga! I’ll start with walking, then, I’ll add a few more exercise routine every month. Kaya natin to, Ma! Lesgo!
CHOOSE HAPPINESS
I will strive to find a healthy work-life balance to reduce stress. The “lack of time” is the main cause of my stress. There’s just so much to do and so little time! Nakakaloka! Moving into the new year, I will make an effort to take control of my schedule. I will write down all my scheduled work and chores, so that I can also see how I can manage the spur-of-the-moment tasks.
If you are keen to live healthier and happier in 2022, consider making some changes to protect your overall health and wellbeing. Even the smallest changes can make a huge difference! Let’s gear up for a bright and cheerful year.
